Question by sweet82angel07: what’s the best airline approved pet carrier for a cat thats under 20 pounds?

Best answer:

Answer by L.G.
It’s only if you’re placing the carrier in the baggage hold that you have to have a fairly specific carrier.

If a carrier will fit under the seat i front of you and your animal can stand/sit/lie down comfortably in it, you can take it in the cabin with you. It should also fairly escape-proof.

You can use the hard-sided, molded polyeurethine carriers that have wire ventilation panels in the top and sides or you can take one of the soft-sided carriers that are more like a shoulder-style purse. I’d go with whatever your cat is most comfortable in.

AA web site has their requirements. Are you taking the dog on board (inside the plane) with you? You best call AA. That carrier would not be ok for a dog in the luggage section.
