I cant find a dog carrier I saw once can you?

Question by Em: I cant find a dog carrier I saw once can you?
I know my effort is pretty much pointless but I saw a picture of a beautiful pet carrier. It was an over the shoulder purse style bag that was burgundy and silky on the inside with a slightly variating brown faux fur on the outside. Striped downward I believe. It was on a pet stuff website but I cant remember which. I saw it in several places though. Absolutely gorgeous. Any help is appreciated. It wasnt too long ago but it wasnt on my computer. So I cant hit history. :(

You might find what you are looking for on Ebay, much as what you describe doesn’t sound very practical. More like a fashion accessory to be honest. Don’t forget, dogs are dogs – with LEGS.

Question by : Has anyone ever knitted (or felted) a pet crate carrier cover?

If you want to make a cover for anything, it is quite easy. Make a paper pattern, and then just knit pieces that match your pattern. It would most likely be rectangular pieces… and then you just piece them together. If you can knit in the round, you can make a rectangular piece for the top, and then pick up stitches all the way around, and just knit round and round, making a tube. It’s not that hard to do.

If you are going to felt it, this is a bit tricky. You would knit a cover larger than you need, and then felt it which will shrink the fabric. The trick is to be able to predict how it will felt — sometimes they shrink in size a lot, sometimes only in the length but not so much in width. So you need to make it large enough so that when felted, it would be the exact size you need. This requires a lot of skill and experimenting, but can be done.

What pet carrier should I choose?

Question by Laure G: What pet carrier should I choose?
My cat will travel by plane soon, so I need to buy them a IATA approved carrier. They are allowed to travel in the same box. The thing is that I don’t know what size I should pick. They are both quite large, weighing about 5 kilos (about 11 lbs) and they measure about 20 inches (50 cm) long from the nose to the base of the tail.
So if anyone could tell me what box size I should choose (for the two cats together).
Thanks!
scooter, the cats will have to go in the hold, for some reason they are not allowed in the cabin, because they are travelling on the pets travel scheme

when we moved to california, we flew with my 3 year old cat. She did just fine. The carriers we used was a medium sized mesh pet carrier. We could fit the carrier under the seat because thats where she was supposed to be stowed. We got the carrier in Petsmat, it was approved. Although in your case you have some large cats! You could buy 2 carriers of the same smaller size and if you are traveling with someone else put one cat under each seat. Dont put both cats in the same carrier if it is small. Dont buy a carrier too big because they wont let you take it on the plane, remember, cats love small places. And dont get a plastic carrier because they are more bulky and harder to fit under the seat. Hope this helps!
