Question by : Does anyone know if there’s a homemade cat repellent that can be sprayed on human skin?
I am having issues w/ my 2 female indoor cats curling up w/ me in bed and I need to find a repellent! Normally I wouldn’t have an issue but they are getting up in my face and REALLY annoying me until they move to another area of the room which can take upwards of 10-15 minutes. If it wouldn’t be for the fact that I am not up to hauling in a big pet taxi from outside, I’d be sticking them in a pet taxi at night.

I want them to leave me alone! I am under stress from having to have dogs in pet taxis due to the weather, stress from trying to get my ACWW towns in order, stress from trying to track down some lego figures, stress from the reasonably clever comics “52 firsts” thing, and a pile of stress worrying that the stress could cause another ass kicker month from a certain “Aunt” that’s due to arrive in a few days. All i want is alone time and I don’t want to have to sleep on the couch to get it.

If you can, close your bedroom door. I dont think there is such thing as a cat repellent for humans. Maybe try making a small bed for them with a couple of blankets in a warmer area. They are probably all over you because they want to warmth.

Q&A: What should I do with my dog?

Question by The Anonymous One: What should I do with my dog?
I adopted a beagle mutt for $ 125.00 and already spent $ 500+ for getting her fixed (which was in the adoption contract that I had to do this), vaccinations, toys galore, and the normal things anything needs to live. Our adoption contract states that she cannot be put in a kennel for longer than 8 hours a day, she cannot be let outside without supervision, she cannot be put on a running line outside, she cannot become an outside dog, and if we do these she will be taken away and a fine be charged for neglect. She is a good dog and doesn’t chew up everything like most dogs, but anything that falls in the floor she thinks it is fair game to play with. If we have food or did have food in our hands and we walk by her she will do this half jump thing to snip at our hands in hopes that we will drop whatever is in our hands. When she is hungry at a time that is not her time to eat then she goes around the whole house or wherever I have her gated in and she will eat anything in the floor from fuzz to paper to my 5 yr old daughter’s little toys. I have gotten her little rawhide snacks and rawhide bones to keep her occupied from being hungry until it’s time to eat. I have tried to leave her food out for her to eat, but she has this habit (I guess from the foster home) to try and eat the entire container, even the container that holds a few lbs of dry food and if she cannot finish it she will scoot her bowl or cantainer around until she feels that it is hidden or “buried”. She sometimes makes herself sick from trying to drink all of the water or eating all the food. Then, when she needs to go out she doesn’t whine, whimper, or bark. She shows no signs that she needs to go out. The only sign that she ‘might’ show is sniffing around the area she normally goes which is in 80% of the house. So, it’s kinda hard to know when she needs to go out. She has a pet taxi that we put her in while we are asleep. Sometimes she will not poop outside and she will do it in her pet taxi in the middle of the night. I feed her at the same time every day and she gets her rawhide snacks and whatever my 5 yr old gives her. She gets taken out 3-6 times a day, depending on the amount of food or water she has consumed that day. Another thing, she has bonded very well with my daughter so anytime we are playing with her or have to punish her our dog with bite us. It’s not hard but like a warning nip and some barks. If we try to play with her she gets over excited (running back and forth with her hair standing up) and has this biting problem. She hasn’t broken skin but she bites pretty hard, mainly our feet are her targets. If our daughter gets her excited like that she will not bite her, she does these loud annoying, howling barks and she nips very lightly at our daughter’s feet. Anytime she does eliminate in the house she automatically knows she is in trouble and goes into defense mode. If we try to touch her during her defense mode she will show her teeth and even try to bite us, but she won’t do this with our daughter. Our daughter can even pet her while she is in defense mode, but when we come around her, even with our daughter right there, she will try to bite me or my husband and not our daughter.

I think I have gave enough information to help get some ideas of what I should do with her. I kind of thought about paying someone to train her, but with a trainer you don’t really know how the outcome will be when the trainer is not around. I know petco or petsmart offers training, but I’m not sure how much it is or if they can help her snatching, snooping, biting, and eliminating in the pet taxi or in the house.

**If you need more info, ask for it and I will add it in the details. I just need someone to help me figure out what to do with her.
I have had several dogs in my lifetime and have trained all of them and they are the best dogs ever! I didn’t ask for some bitch to say it is my fault. She was already 7 months old when I got her. I was the foster parents’ fault. I have had her for 4 months now. It was a problem within the foster home with the biting and food and eliminating in the wrong areas. Don’t come on here accusing me of something when you need to know a little more. So shut your mouth. I was just asking for some advise not a bitch fest.

FAQ:

Q: How much do you charge?

A: My rates vary, depending on the size and number of animals, the type of visit I am making, the services I am providing, and the location of your home. Generally, when I am staying overnight, my fees range from $ 35-$ 65/night. 45-minute drop-ins start at $ 15. When you contact me to make arrangements, we can discuss my fees.

Q: Do you provide boarding or doggy day care in your home?

A: No. I have found that animals are much more comfortable and relaxed when they are in their own home, with their own toys, blankets, etc. My goal is to keep your pets as happy as possible- introducing them to a new house is not conducive to a stress-free environment. Additionally, I do not introduce “strange” animals into my home in order to preserve the health and safety of both my animals and your own.

Q: Do you have references?

A: Yes, I have had many happy clients who would be more than happy to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have. However, in order to ensure the privacy of my clients, these references are available only upon request.

What you want to post is a resume — that’s what you’ve written.

Most of that would go into a brochure. This is WAY too long for an ad. Nowhere do you say you’re bonded.

Just put in the first paragraph, then ‘pet sitting services, rates vary, email me for quote, references and further info. Then email them what you wrote above in your post. I can guarantee NOBODY will read something as long as what you posted above. You need short and sweet, stick to the point. It’s only to get people’s interest, they’ll follow through with you if interested.
