Question by Sarah: Has anyone ever flown with a large size sherpa pet carrier?
I had to get a large size for my long little wiener doggie… but I’m a wee bit worried about it fitting under the seat.

Q&A: Travelling internationally with a dog

Question by MMD: Travelling internationally with a dog
I am going to be flying internationally with my dog and am looking for a good pet carrier. My dog is 4-5lbs and will be travelling in the cabin. I need something that is roomy, comfortable and that fits underneath the airline seat. Does anybody know of any good kinds to buy?

You actually don’t have much of a choice. You can only use a bag that’s been approved by the FAA. Sherpa is the most popular approved bag.

Think of yourself 20 times smaller crawling on all four in it, then consider some extra space for one toy, catnip bag and a towel. If it’s the one with food tray inside, make sure it is not one that the water will splash everywhere (if it is the same bottle for rodent, it is okay) and dry food will gets everywhere then, calculate if there is a possibility in the transport that the cat will accidentally SIT on any of that food trail. Now, consider if you’ll be able to have enough air inside circulating and if you can wash it easilly (as the fur too).
